Project Overview

1. Project Background & Raw Water Challenge
Hill Group, a leading industrial and agricultural conglomerate in Tanzania, required a high-reliability water treatment facility for their poultry hatchery operations in Dar es Salaam. Poultry hatcheries require strict microbiological purity and low mineral total dissolved solids (TDS) to ensure optimal hatchability rates, biosecurity, and equipment lifespan.
Feed Water Analysis:
- Raw Water Source: Underground borehole water.
- Electrical Conductivity: 556 µS/cm (Exhibiting moderate seasonal salinity fluctuations).
- Turbidity: 0.33 NTU (Contains fine suspended solids and colloidal silicates).
The primary objective was to purify the raw groundwater into high-purity process and drinking water matching WHO Potable Water Guidelines, while maintaining maximum operational redundancy so that hatchery operations never face downtime during routine maintenance.
2. Technical Solution & Process Flow Design
To meet the client’s strict uptime requirements and seasonal water demand fluctuations, Globaluf’s engineering team designed a modular, dual-capacity parallel treatment architecture:

Engineered Process Chain:
- Raw Water Supply: Pressurized feed from underground wells.
- Quartz Sand Filtration: Removal of suspended solids, turbidity (down from 0.33 NTU), and particulate matter.
- Activated Carbon Filtration: Adsorption of organic compounds, free chlorine, color, and odor.
- Precision Security Filter: 5-micron PP cartridge filtration protecting RO membranes from micro-particulates.
- High-Pressure BWRO Skids:
- 2 × 4 m³/h Systems (GU-BWRO-4m3/h): Primary production line.
- 2 × 2 m³/h Systems (GU-BWRO-2m3/h): Flexible auxiliary / low-demand production line.
- Post-UV Disinfection: Complete pathogen destruction before storage.

Why Dual-Capacity Configuration?
Splitting 12 m³/h capacity into 4 independent skid units (2 × 4 m³/h + 2 × 2 m³/h) allows the facility manager to run 2 m³/h, 4 m³/h, 6 m³/h, 8 m³/h, or 12 m³/h depending on daily demand. This reduces energy consumption by up to 30% during off-peak cycles.
3. Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) Performance & Video Demonstration
Before dispatch from our manufacturing facility, all 4 BWRO plants underwent comprehensive wet trial testing.
Live FAT parameter monitoring: Feed water conductivity at 320 µS/cm dropping to 4.58 µS/cm permeate conductivity, achieving an exceptional 98.57% salt rejection rate.

Real-time FAT flow monitoring: Permeate flow at 4 m³/h and concentrate flow at 4 m³/h, operating at a steady 50% system recovery rate.
4. Real-Time Inspection Operating Metrics:

Result: All systems demonstrated exceptional desalination competence with salt rejection rates reaching up to 98.57% and product water conductivity below 5.5 µS/cm, far exceeding WHO drinking water criteria.
5. Logistics Innovation & Customer Value
To maximize client return on investment (ROI) and minimize landed freight costs under surging ocean freight market conditions, Globaluf optimized the physical footprint of all 4 systems:
- 1 × 40ft HQ Container Integration: All 4 RO skids, 4 pretreatment vessels, connecting UPVC piping, and spare parts were engineered to consolidate into a single 40ft High Cube container.
- Complimentary Operational Spares: Included 2 pcs of 8-inch RO membranes, 4 pcs of 4-inch RO membranes, and 4 boxes of PP sediment filters completely free of charge—providing 1 full year of continuous operational consumable support.

Factory dispatch logistics: Forklift loading a film-wrapped 4000 LPH (4 m³/h) skid-mounted BWRO unit into a 40ft HQ container for ocean transport to Tanzania.
