2000 m³/D Ultrafiltration (UF) System for Industrial Park Domestic Water
Industrial & Municipal Water Treatment
Project Details
Introduction
Ensuring a stable and safe supply of drinking water is a cornerstone of infrastructure for any modern industrial hub. Recently, Globaluf Water Treatment Co., Ltd. completed the installation and commissioning of a 2000 m³/day Domestic Water Treatment System for an industrial park in Jiangxi, China.
The project utilizes advanced membrane technology to treat local reservoir surface water, transforming it into high-quality potable water that strictly adheres to the GB 5749-2022 National Standards.
Challenge
The primary raw water source for this project is a local surface reservoir. Surface water often presents significant challenges, including seasonal fluctuations in turbidity, suspended solids, and potential microbial contamination. To provide safe drinking water for the thousands of personnel within the industrial park, the system required a solution that could handle these variables while maintaining a compact footprint and automated operation.
Our engineering team designed a robust process route combining chemical pretreatment, mechanical filtration, and advanced ultrafiltration (UF) technology.
The Optimized Process Route: Raw Water → Flocculant Dosing System → Quartz Sand Filter → Ultrafiltration (UF) System → Bactericide Dosing System → Qualified Effluent

Explore the Core Components of the Jiangxi Project
To protect the ultrafiltration membranes and reduce the overall loading, we installed two parallel quartz sand filters. These Φ2.2m × 3.85m carbon steel tanks are coated with high-grade anti-corrosion materials to ensure longevity.
Dual parallel quartz sand filters (Φ2.2m) utilized for effective pre-treatment of reservoir surface water to remove suspended solids.
2. Advanced Filtration: The 2000 m³/D Ultrafiltration (UF) System
The heart of the facility is the UF membrane array. This system is comprised of 40 high-performance membrane modules, providing a massive total filtration area of 2,040 m².
Design Flux: Approx. 0.041 m³/(m²·h)
Total Capacity: 2,000 m³/Day
Function: Effectively removes bacteria, viruses, and fine colloids that traditional filters might miss.

3. Precision Dosing & Automation
To ensure the biological safety of the water, the system integrates automatic dosing devices for both flocculants and bactericides. These systems operate in sync with the flow rate to maintain precise chemical levels for optimal coagulation and disinfection.
Process Description
The treatment begins with the Flocculant Dosing System, which agglomerates fine particles into larger flocs. These are then intercepted by the Quartz Sand Filters. The water then enters the Ultrafiltration System, which acts as a physical barrier against microorganisms and remaining turbidity. Finally, a Bactericide Dosing System provides residual disinfection, ensuring the water remains safe throughout the park’s distribution network.
Result
The 2000 m³/D UF system is now fully operational, providing a continuous stream of safe, clean, and compliant drinking water. By integrating Globaluf’s membrane technology, the industrial park has secured a reliable utility foundation that meets the latest national health standards, supporting the region’s industrial growth and employee well-being.
