500TPD Ultrapure Water (UPW) System for a Leading Electronics Manufacturer

Electronics & Semiconductor Ultrapure Water (UPW)

Project Details

Introduction

In the electronics and semiconductor industry, water quality is not just a utility—it’s a critical component of product yield and reliability. Recently, Globaluf Water Treatment Co., Ltd. successfully delivered a high-precision 500M³/D Ultrapure Water (UPW) System for a prominent electronics factory in Jiangxi. This system is engineered to meet the most stringent international standards, consistently delivering water with a resistivity of over 18 MΩ.cm.

Challenge

The client required a stable, large-scale water supply for high-end electronic component rinsing. The source water needed extensive purification to remove suspended solids, dissolved ions, and organic carbon to nearly undetectable levels.

Globaluf Solution: UF + Double Pass RO + EDI

Our engineering team designed a multi-stage membrane-based solution to ensure total reliability and water purity.

Explore the core components of our high-performance solution below

1. Pre-treatment: Ultrafiltration (UF) System To protect the downstream membranes, we utilized a 750TPD UF System. This stage effectively removes colloids, bacteria, and macromolecules, ensuring a low Silt Density Index (SDI) for the RO feed water.

2. Core Desalination: Double Pass Reverse Osmosis (RO) The heart of the system is our 500TPD Double Pass RO System. By passing the water through two successive RO stages, we achieve a salt rejection rate of >99.5%, providing the high-quality permeate required for the EDI polishing stage.

3. Final Polishing: Electrodeionization (EDI) For the final “polishing” stage, we integrated an EDI System. This continuous process removes remaining ions without the need for chemical regeneration, maintaining a stable output of 18.2 MΩ.cm ultrapure water.
